Canteen promises to be a taste sensation destination for everyone — a gathering place for Design District’s community, friends and family, and a fresh alternative for local residents and those visiting the O2 and Greenwich Peninsula’s many other attractions. Open work days and weekends, from sunup to way past sundown, Canteen will cater to all the daily needs of its clientele: coffeebreak to cocktail hour and beyond (the latter libations coming courtesy of a bar that’s also committed to serving the best value pint in SE London).
This vibrant hub will also play host to regular workshops and events, bringing together Design District tenants and talents from further afield. Look forward to floristry brunches, wine tasting, comedy nights, live music and much more besides.

Celebrating the versatility of Venezuelan Arepas — delicious, artisan buns made with naturally gluten-free white corn. One of Guasa’s bestsellers is Two Little Pigs Arepa, described as ‘roasted pork loin mixed with caramelized onions, with grilled goat's cheese and fresh coriander, topped up with pork belly crackling.’
Serving up Malaysian rice bowls and sweet treats. ‘Before fusion was even a thing,’ say husband and wife team Rob and Mel, ‘Malaysians have been blending Malay, Chinese, Indian and Thai culinary skills and ingredients together, creating some of the most delicious and mind-blowing dishes the world has ever tasted.’
Purveyors of quick, quality Italian street food. ‘Our signature dish has to be the Porchetta Focaccia. The side of pork is filled with herbs and spices, rolled and put in the oven for six hours! The porchetta is then thinly sliced and placed between fresh focaccia, accompanied with roasted peppers and our home made chilli sauce. It's INCREDIBLE!’
Family recipe-inspired Kolkata street food. Rinku, Ron and Neelan tell us their signature dish is Kolkata Kati Roll, ‘a soft pillowy naan, cooked with an egg and spices, filled with either our spicy lamb kebabs, 24-hour marinated tandoori chicken or cheeky chickpeas, loaded with salads and drizzled with award winning sauces, wrapped and served with love.’
