About this Event

To mark International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month NOW Gallery has invited feminist publication and arts and culture platform Polyester Zine to take over our Instagram feed and host our very first Instagram Live event.

Founder and Editor in Chief Ione Gamble will be joined by Polyester podcast co-host Olivia Graham to discuss ‘maligned femininity’, in other words, behaviours often negatively stereotyped as femme such as gossip, being sensitive or jealousy. They’ll delve into how these traits manifest themselves and explore how we can go about reclaiming them. This is an open conversation, and we would love for your experiences of maligned femininity to shape the exchange. To get involved please submit your stories or examples via email or DM and we’ll pass them on to Ione and Olivia before the event. To tune into simply click the ‘Watch Here’ button at 6.30pm on 8th March which will take you to our Instagram page or join directly from your Instagram app on the day.
