‘The Centre of Space, Time and Design’ is one of 10 unique sculptural waymarkers welcoming visitors to London Design Festival’s official ‘design districts.’ For Design District, architect Jason Brooker has created a totem representing the development of Greenwich, and its temporal, spatial and creative relevance to the rest of the world. The design takes a less Eurocentric view, promoting both diversity and collaboration between design fields by focusing on the various cultures and traditions which have developed in the area throughout its rich history. Many of these have flourished on Greenwich Peninsula, where they’ve made a permanent home.
London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world. This year, in a first for the festival, each of the city's 10 design districts will be celebrated with a unique sculptural waymarker to welcome visitors and communicate the distinctive character of the area.
